The voices of the wronged call out to the Lawgiver for justice, even from beyond the veil of death. In order to use this Charm, the Solar must first successfully case the scene of a murder or an otherwise suspicious death. The ghost of the victim appears at the scene of the crime, visible only to the Solar. If the victim’s ghost has passed onto lethe (or the victim was not capable of leaving a ghost, like a god), she instead communes with the imprint of its Essence. The ghost can interact with the Solar using social influence and will answer up to the (Essence) questions. The ghost may not tell the truth unless persuaded through influence, and he cannot remember enough of his death to identify a culprit—only provide clues no living witness could know. The Solar forms a Major Intimacy towards either the victim or solving the case as long as she receives at least one useful answer.

At the Storyteller’s discretion, the ghost may appear to the Solar in later scenes as new evidence is uncovered or to pry into the Lawgiver’s own life, allowing her to ask an additional question each scene. Each scene in which it provides a useful clue strengthens the Solar’s Intimacy towards the case by one step.

Once the Solar has successfully solved the case and brought all culprits to justice, she may shed the Intimacy and a point of Limit along with it. The victim’s ghost appears to her one last time to say his farewells before passing peacefully unto lethe.
